Our latest installation is a 4 manual modular console – now known as “The Charterhouse”. The customer, a former employee of Salisbury Cathedral, wanted a replica console to use with the Milan Salisbury sample set. We retained an existing Osmond 30 note pedalboard and bench. 2 x 22″ Iiyama touchscreen monitors were used to accurately replicate the organs stop jambs. A Mac Mini was internally mounted reducing the external wiring to just a power and firewire cable. The audio interface is an Echo Audiofire 12 which is connected to 6 x Mackie HR824 powered studio monitors and a KRK sub.
There were some teething troubles with the Mac (2Ghz quad core i7 Mac Mini Server with Intel HD3000 graphics not supporting 2 rotated monitors). After replacing the Mac with a later 2.6Ghz machine with HD4000 graphics, all is well. Again we used Touch-Base drivers for the touchscreens.
This minimalist console looks fantastic in the newly decorated music room. A very satisfactory installation.
